GirlBoss Edge: Primary Industries

Marlborough Girls' College —

The annual GirlBoss awards recognise 12 trailblazing women from across the country from ages 11-18 in the categories: STEM,Community, Enterprise and Arts and Cultures.

This year, five Marlborough Girls’ College students have been selected into  the GirlBoss Edge: Primary Industries programme.  They are:

  • Brialey Foster - Year 10 
  • Sophie Anderson - Year 12
  • Alex Phelps - Year 12
  • Aria Millen - Year 12
  • Ava Redmond - Year - Year 12

The above students will be taking part in Primary Industries 2023 which is a huge honour and a testament to their abilities. This will involve taking part in a ten day course from the 29th September - 8th October online for Stem, community enterprise and Arts and Culture. During this course, they will listen to inspirational speaker Sarah Pirie Bally, who is leading an expedition to Antarctica to support conservation efforts and hear through live streams from several other primary industries heroes.  Other speakers include Laura Koot, Founder & CEO, Real Country, and Courtney Davies who was a finalist in the 2022 NZ Environmental Hero of the Year.
