Nearly 60 year 9 students participated in the Rocket Challenge held on 20th June.

Students worked in teams to design, build and test water powered rockets, with the winning team’s rocket travelling 38 meters. 

Alongside the practical Rocket making and testing students learnt about the forces involved in flight and aerodynamics as well as hearing about engineering career pathways from Senior Avionics technicians Kate & Lexi and Mechatronics Engineer Sarah McLean (ex-MGC student). It was a great, tiring day of hands on learning.
