Congratulations to our MGC King Salmon Senior A Netball team, who won the Tasman area Super Net competition held in Nelson last weekend.

Captain Mya Wiapo (Year 13) shares her experience.

"The MGC Senior A Netball team travelled over to Nelson last Wednesday to play in the Supernet Netball tournament. We had two games against both Waimea and Nayland coming away with two wins at the end of the day. 

In our game against Waimea we got off to a great start, pushing out the lead. We were all very well connected in our first game, we went out and played hard. At the end of this game we pulled away and pushed the score out to take a win. 

Our second game of the day against Nayland had a bit of a rough start to it, being down by ten in the first quarter. However, after a couple of changes during the break, the girls and I were able to bring the score closer, eventually getting the lead. In the end, we were able to pull away with a 20-goal win over the Nayland side.

The girls and I really enjoyed ourselves and it was a really good opportunity to play against other college teams before we head away to the South Islands in a couple of weeks. We were able to connect more as a team, and learn how each other play. It meant we were able to get some more game experience and try out some different combinations. We cannot wait to go away in two weeks, and are looking forward to representing MGC to the best we can".
