A word from the Principal

Mary-Jeanne Lynch —

He manako te kōura i kore ai - Wishing for the crayfish won't bring it

We were delighted to welcome everyone back to Term 2 last week. Learning requires focus, determination, hard work and making the most of opportunities, and this term is all about laying down the foundation for future success. At our senior assembly this week, our Manukura | Head Girl Veisinia Moli spoke about her experiences during her three week Outward Bound over the Easter holiday break. She talked about being brave, about working as part of a team, of accepting others and taking time to reflect and appreciate what and who we have around us. These are also the ingredients for great learning. Her final words of wisdom are worth sharing - "There is more to us than we know" come from the founder of Outward Bound, Kurt Hanh, and remind us of the potential we all have within. Realising potential is what we're about at MGC and I trust you enjoy reading about the opportunities and successes in this week's bulletin.
