Chief Scout Expedition

Marlborough Girls' College —

Well done to Katlyn Ross and Aimee Griffiths for completing their Chief Scout Expedition over the holiday weekend, a 90km bike ride through the Molesworth to Hanmer.

Aimee and Katlyn planned and organised the whole trip with the guidance of the scout troup. They overcame adversity coming up with a plan B when the Molesworth track was closed due to slips at Upcoat Saddle following heavy rains the weekend before.

They started off driving through Hanmer and onto Molesworth Station as the direct road was closed. They then biked back to Hanmer from Molesworth - 60kms on the first day, and 30kms on the second.

It snowed during the night at Acheron Campsite which was a cold night in the tent!

An awesome effort with lots of stories about things that went well, and some that didn't, and a well deserved trip to the hot pools at the end.
