Young Enterprise Scheme

Marlborough Girls' College —

On Tuesday 25 June, our business group participated in the pitch for the Young Enterprise Scheme.

This is where we wrote a pitch to promote our business to judges where we were judged and will get given a certain amount of points depending on how well we did. The business group that receives the most points will get the chance to go to Nelson to participate in the regional pitch competition where a business group from each school in the top of the South regions participating in YES will pitch again to another set of judges for their spot in the national competition.

This was a very nerve wracking experience which took a lot of preparation but once we entered the room, our group had a lot of fun. The judges were very nice, asked us lots of questions and it was a great experience to show how hard we have worked.

We learnt a lot of valuable skills for presenting a pitch from this experience and our group feels a lot more confident for the next time we might get the opportunity again. As well as asking us questions, the judges gave us advice on where we might want to sell our product which opened our minds up to the many other places as well. This was an overall very valuable experience and we encourage everyone who might be taking business at MGC to take advantage of this opportunity.

As we are still in the process of producing and selling our product, if you are interested in supporting us, here are our social media accounts so that you can stay updated!
