60th Jubilee Celebration

Marlborough Girls' College —

As 60 years passed, we celebrated a special weekend with present and past MGC Principals, students and teachers, sharing memories, stories and antics!

The opportunity to share stories, reconnect with old friends, and celebrate the passage of time with the current and past students reminds us of the enduring friendships that withstand the test of time throughout one's schooling. Our current students loved taking past students on a tour of the school and telling them of the changes to education alongside listening to the history stories and misdemeanors from the reunion attendees.

Enjoy the photos that show our events throughout the weekend: our mihi whakatau, tours, whole school birthday celebrations, staff fashion show of the past and present uniforms, words of wisdom and memories from Diana Hubbard (student 1963-1965), and our jubilee dinner.

Words from our past students who attended the weekend:

‘What a wonderful Jubilee celebration!!

I would like to congratulate and thank the four girls who so enthusiastically showed us around the school. I was really impressed with their politeness, confident, enquiring minds and thoughtfulness’

‘I just wanted to pass on my observations of all our young students who took the ladies on school tours, offered to get them drinks and were so eloquent and eager to listen to their stories. They really are future leaders! I kept hearing people making really positive comments. Well done everyone!!’
