Equestrian
The Marlborough Girls’ College equestrian team had a fantastic week at the National Equestrian Centre in Christchurch, competing in the South Island Secondary Schools' competition.
Amidst a competitive field of 45 teams, the girls represented MGC with pride, performing at their best and displaying exceptional teamwork and support for one another.
Ultimately, the MGC Gold Team emerged as the overall winner in the team eventing category. The team comprised Mikayla Ikenasio, Carys McNabb, Sophie Laws, Livvie Allen, Kaitlyn Ikenasio, Kate Edwards, and Molly Allen. The team further achieved outstanding individual results:
• Mikayla Ikenasio: 3rd in Level 0 dressage and 4th in showjumping (80-90cm), best rider Year 9 & 10
• Sophie Laws: 4th equal in Level 2 dressage
• Livvie Allen: 2nd in showjumping (90-100cm)
• Kate Edwards: 4th in showjumping (70-80cm)
• Kaitlyn Ikenasio: 4th in eventing (95cm)
• Molly Allen: 6th in eventing (65cm)
The MGC Blue Team, comprising Keira Hollis, Anika Hollis and Katie Agnew also had a successful week, achieving personal bests in tough competition.
