Frozen in Reo Māori

Marlborough Girls' College —

Our ākonga were invited to another community event at Event Cinemas in Blenheim, a screening of the popular Disney Movie Frozen in te reo Māori.

This was a free event sponsored by Te Ahu o te Reo Māori, and everyone enjoyed popcorn and a drink, as well as seeing a cult classic movie.  The singing to the popular tunes from the movie by the ākonga from MBC added to the ambience.  What a beautiful way to spend the morning.

  • "It was a beneficial experience to watch Frozen Reo Māori because it was a way to connect and learn within my culture. The audience of MGC and MBC enjoyed seeing one of the most iconic disney movies in Te Reo Māori"  - Antonia Milham, Year 9

  • "Seeing Frozen in Te Reo Māori was an excellent way to further my understanding of the language and to see some of the words we’ve learnt used in regular conversation and situations. I had a great time and got to enjoy an amazing educational experience" - Matilda Phelps, Year 9
