Camp 2024

Marlborough Girls' College —

Risk assessment in the Marlborough Sounds

Last week we went on the 12PE and 12OED camp to Momorangi. We participated in outdoor activities such as tramping, mountain biking and sea kayaking. Through these activities, we were able to learn and gain new skills in risk management.

The camp consisted of walking 16km from Picton to Momorangi Bay, with a lunch stop at Ngakuta Bay. On the second day, group one biked 25km to Davis Bay, with an additional 8 km to the lookout. Group two kayaked to Mistletoe Bay, totalling 19.2km.

On the third and final day, we swapped activities and met up at Davis Bay for lunch. We organised and cooked our own food for all three days. We all participated in this camp to look at and reduce the potential risks for outdoor activities.
