Mountains to the Sea trip to the Grovetown Lagoon

Marlborough Girls' College —

On Tuesday 15th October our Mountains to the Sea / Ki uta ki tai (MSB) class visited the Grovetown Lagoon / Te Whanau Hau to learn more about the Grovetown Lagoon Restoration Project.

The class had a fantastic day out in the sunshine exploring one of our local treasures - Te Whanau Hau - The Grovetown Lagoon. We met with local experts Phil Bradfield, Angela Wentworth and Justine Johnston, who explained the importance of increasing biodiversity through projects such as the Grovetown Lagoon Restoration Project.

Our students investigated freshwater invertebrates and fish and deepened their understanding of the concept of sustainability.
