There was plenty of Glitz and Glam on the red carpet at the Marlborough Convention Centre on Saturday night as approximately 500 students and staff walked in to cheers and applause from the crowd.

We were delighted and very proud to celebrate students' successes in our Junior Kairangi awards this week.

Our choirs performed at the Big Sing Regionals in Nelson on 9th June with Ovation taking out two awards and gaining selection to compete at the South Island Cadenza finale.

On Tuesday 5 July and Wednesday 6 July we acknowledged our junior students and their achievements at the end of Semester 1.

Recently this term the Student Council had started up the MGC Breakfast Club again!

In Week 5 we celebrated Samoan Language Week.

On Monday 4 July our Equestrian team set off for Nelson to compete in the Tasman Secondary Sports Equestrian competition.

Marlborough Girls’ College choir Ovation will be performing in Blenheim with the internationally awarded national secondary school choir.

Good luck to those students competing in a variety of tournaments and championships over the July break.

Nominations are open for the election of three (3) Parent Representatives to the Marlborough Girls' College Board of Trustees.

The Adventure Marlborough camp this semester was based at Marahau Outdoor Education camp and Whenua Iti Outdoors, 14th-17th June 2022.

Thank you to all the wonderful employers and individuals who made time to support our Employers Engagement Expo.

Congratulations to our Junior Girls team placing 5th in the Central Zone Qualifying Tournament. Placing 5th qualifies them for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Underwater Hockey Championships (Schools Nationals).

The MGC squash teams had an excellent tournament at the South Island Secondary School Championships in Nelson on the 25-26 June.

With the winter months upon us, you may be driving your tamariki to school. Please be aware of the yellow lines along McLauchlan Street and avoid parking on them when dropping your tamariki at school.

The NZSS Cross Country Championships was held in Nelson on the 18-19 June with over 100 schools and around 800 students participating.
