CORONAVIRUS

Nurses —

Please also see the attached flyer. Could we also stress NOT to send your child to school if they are unwell.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Just a reminder about Coronavirus:

With the new travel restrictions from the government coming into place on all travellers from China, and the declaration by the World Health Organisation on Friday that coronavirus is now a 'public health emergency of international concern', it is timely to inform you of how we are continuing to manage this situation.

Massey High School continues to be guided by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health, and we are grateful to the Auckland Regional Public Health Service for the additional information and understanding they have provided us.

As previously advised, Massey High School requires all students (domestic and international) who have travelled from, or via, mainland China to undertake a period of 14-day self-isolation in order to ensure that our community remains at low risk from the spread of the virus. We will be providing schoolwork for any students affected in this way students to ensure the impact of this self-isolation is as minimal as possible. All other students are to be in school as usual and absences will be recorded in the usual manner.

Our approach is in excess of the minimum requirements and we will continue to take a precautionary attitude. I would like to thank the agents of our international students and our homestay families for their exceptional support and understanding.
