INTRODUCING - ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - NICK HACKETT
Background: I grew up in inner city London UK and always enjoyed Science and playing rugby at school. When I left school I went to Dublin University for four years and I have spent much time living in Ireland. After University I spent five years abroad living in Australia, New Zealand and Ecuador, where I worked as a cook and a teacher. After being overseas I returned to London to do my official teacher training. Once qualified I set out back to New Zealand with my partner, now wife, and have two daughters.
Areas of Responsibility: Planning and running our Academies with our academy team of tutors, up line for the Technology Faculty and a teacher of Science.
Interests. Outside of work I am always interested in travelling whether real or virtual, cycling, football, social history and gardening.
Massey High School. I really enjoy the varied and progressive programmes that we offer the community at Massey. We have the widest range of academies at a school in New Zealand and it means that our students have a great choice of career pathways along with more traditional choices. This allows everyone the chance to shine and to seek the heights.
