CORONAVIRUS - UPDATE

Elaine Curtis —

Please read article below for updated information.

Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) have informed us that a parent of two students attending schools in Auckland (not Massey High School), has been confirmed with coronavirus (COVID-19). While this is concerning for everyone, there is no risk to students, staff or others at Massey High School.

This will raise levels of anxiety amongst parents and students, and there will be commentary in social and other media. We ask that all students continue to maintain high levels of hygiene by following the steps below:

The preventative measures ARPHS is encouraging schools to practice are those of good hygiene, which include:

· Washing hands with soap and water before and after eating as well as after attending the toilet

· Covering coughs and sneezes with clean tissues or with an elbow

· Putting used tissues in the bin

· Encouraging staff and students to stay home if they are unwell

If you would like more information, please visit the ARPHS or the Ministry of Health’s websites, or call Healthline on 0800 358 5453.

Please be assured there is no risk to the Massey High School community from this.
