Head Boy: Riley Allen

Meagan Gaitau —

This weeks Gold Badge Prefect profile introduces Head Boy, Riley Allen.

Riley is charismatic, friendly and is positive in all that he does. You will rarely find him without a smile on his face, unless he is head down focusing on his work. Riley is passionate about Massey High School and extremely excited about his year as Head Boy.

Within this role, Riley is hoping to increase communication between students and teachers, with a focus on their learning and how to enhance it. He is also really keen to increase the number of students tutoring students within the school, which Riley has been heavily involved himself as a tutor through Period 6 and Every Student Counts.

Riley is a humble young man, who is generous with his time. His greatest motivation is his desire to help and support others. Riley also speaks about what he loves most about Massey High School, being the positive attitude all teachers have towards students learning. He is passionate about ensuring all students reach their academic goals and have vast opportunities once they leave in Year 13.

For his final year, Riley is aiming to gain the required credits for an engineering course at Auckland University. He also wants to make sure that there is a 90% pass rate for level 1, 2 and 3. Riley has gained both Level 1 and Level 2 NCEA endorsed with Merit, which we hope he can replicate or gain excellence in Level 3. With aspirations as high as his, we are confident he can continue to seek the heights.
