Special Parent Event: YOUNG PEOPLE & BODY IMAGE

Anna North —

Let’s make this special charity event a success with 2-for-1 tickets! Did you know the Young People & Body Image talk is a fundraiser for postnatal depression charity Mothers Helpers? That makes the evening a double win - learning about protecting your child from body image problems + raising money for charity. BUT we still have tickets available.

We want EVERYONE to hear Emma Wright’s message, so we’re making tickets 2-for-1!

That means you can buy yourself a ticket, then bring along your teen, your partner or your friend. For those of you who have already purchased tickets, you are also welcome to bring along someone who would benefit from hearing this talk. This deal does NOT apply to door sales, so make sure you book at Eventfinda to secure your seats!

We live in a world saturated with some pretty skewed views around body image. There’s no doubt
that young people are exposed to these views and as parents, we should be aware of how we can help to address the constant messages our children are exposed to.

That’s why Massey High School said yes to an opportunity to secure Family Body Confidence Consultant Emma Wright to talk to the community about raising young people who feel good
about their body. Emma is a recovered bulimic who has researched ways to prevent other young people experiencing the type of negative self-image she experienced.

This event covers teaching media strategies, creating peace around food, how to talk about weight & fat without causing shame, diversity and acceptance and the prevention of eating disorders.

This special event for parents is being hosted by Charly Draper to raise money for Perinatal
Depression charity Mothers Helpers.

Watch a clip about Emma here.
