The Minister of Education has announced that families of secondary students will no longer have to pay fees for entry to NCEA and New Zealand Scholarship.

This change applies for the 2019 year as well as future years, although it does not apply to international fee-paying students who are still required to pay fees for NCEA and Scholarship.

Families who have already paid NCEA fees for 2019 are able to have those fees refunded or transferred to offset any other outstanding fees. Any automatic payments specifically to pay NCEA fees should be cancelled.
