Tourism Academy and Auckland as a Tourist Destination.

The Year 12 Tourism Students undertake a “familiarisation’ of Auckland as a Tourist Destination. 

This allows the students to experience first-hand the events and tourist attractions they could be dealing with in future years as part of their career pathway. 

They visit three key attractions in Auckland – Kelly Tarltons, A Maori Performance at the Museum and The Sky Tower.  Students review factors such as the pricing structures and the additional products and services that the venues offer. 

We discuss the types of tourists who would visit each attraction, how the facility caters for their needs and analyse the outcomes. The Massey High School students in the photos are:
