INTRODUCING - ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - BRENDAN CURRAN

Elaine Curtis —

Education: BEd, Dip Teaching.

Background: I spent a large part of my early childhood moving around before finally settling in Auckland. After graduating from University, I was fortunate enough to spend 4 years travelling and playing rugby overseas before returning to New Zealand, where I have been at Massey High School ever since.

Areas of Responsibility: Achievement and Attainment, the Achievement Centre, Sport, Sports Performance and Development Academy.

Interests. I am married with two children and spending time with them is my biggest source of enjoyment. I am also involved in coaching rugby and my daughter’s soccer team. In the spare time I have left, I like to stay active, through activities like running, cycling, fishing, surfing and skiing.

Massey High School.

Massey High School has become a huge part of my life where I have had the privilege of teaching, coaching, playing rugby with (a surreal experience at the time) and working with students and ex-students.

I love the diverse nature of the school where students from a huge range of backgrounds come together as one. It is a school that offers a huge range of opportunities to the students and prepares them well for the ‘real world’ after school.
