To date 75 of his 81 Level 3 credits are at Excellence level.

He attained an NZQA Scholarship in Statistics as a Year 12 student and is this year undertaking five Scholarship examinations.

Alongside his academic prowess, Leo has maintained an active role in a variety of extra-curricular activities. He is a talented writer and gifted Mathematician, competing regularly in each discipline.

In his time outside of school, when not studying, he competes in, and coaches, endurance-mountain biking. Unbeknown to most, he is a martial artist, Indeed, he is a black belt instructor. Last year he literally fought his way to first place in the Under 18 Free Fighting Expert division at the Auckland Martial Arts Championships. This year he took the time to teach Karate and the self-discipline that goes with it to a number of our Year 10 boys, earning their respect in the process.

Leo also fulfilled the role of Male House Leader of Matauranga with diligence and pride.

Leo has recently been confirmed as the recipient of The University of Auckland Top Achievers Scholarship which will enable him to pursue a degree in Engineering.

He is a worthy Dux of Massey High School for 2017 and we wish him every success in the future.
