As some parents are aware, every year our Year 10 students participate in outdoor education activities in the last week of the school year, whether it is an off-site based activity or a school-based activity.

Some students have already signed up for activities, however there are still many spaces available in various off-site trips. Below is an example of trips that have spaces available. For a complete list of activities and costs please see the attached document.

NOTE: For students not participating in one of the named activities, they will be involved in school-based activities and are required to attend school every day in that last week.

Year 10 Prize Giving is on Friday 8 December @ 9.30am and all students are expected to attend. They will then be released for Christmas Holiday break after this ceremony.

AUCKLAND SNOW SPORTS 

Ever wanted to try skiing or snowboarding? Here is your perfect opportunity to learn the coolest sports in the world! With Auckland Snow Sports you get to ski or snowboard for three days out of the four at SNOWPLANET in Silverdale, including gear hire and lessons from their professional instructors. The other fun activities are drift karts, laser-tag (Megazone) and paint-ball in the Riverhead Forest. Ski/Snowboard hire is included but you will need to provide your own warm clothing, lunch and a drink. Find out why so many people love the mountain in winter!

CONSERVATION IN ACTION ECOADVENTURE

This group has a focus on Conservation and the Unique Wildlife in New Zealand. In this hands on experience we will be going to Tiritiri Matangi Island in the Hauraki Gulf to see NZ wildlife in Action. Go to Auckland Zoo for a behind the scenes visit and hear from them around the issues facing New Zealand's unique creatures. Do a tramp in the Waitakere Ranges and lastly help with Pest Control in our own backyard with the Arc in the Park group.
