“It’s been described as the New Zealand Oscars, a showcase of New Zealand’s best talent, and the highlight of the year for the sporting community. The Halberg Awards are known for glitzy outfits and inspiring messages.

This year, Sports Captains Miracle Naititi and Paris Dixon, Deputy Head Girl Ella Shepherd and Deputy Head/Captain of the First Fifteen rugby team TeRuki Peirce-Dunn were invited to attend. We sold raffle tickets to raise money for the Halberg Foundation, and rubbed shoulders with New Zealand’s sporting elite.

Meeting sporting legends like Dame Valerie Adams, Keiran Reed and Mahe Drysdale (and Prime Minister Bill English!) was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Seeing these talented people rewarded for their hard work certainly made it a little easier when that alarm went off for training the next morning.
