MESSAGE FROM GLEN DENHAM, PRINCIPAL

Glen Denham —

Kia Ora Whanau,

I want to welcome all new students and our new to Massey High School parents and caregivers.

We have secured another set of outstanding academic results and I want to thank all of the support that our students received from staff, family and friends.

The educational landscape of New Zealand is changing and with the Tomorrow's Schools Taskforce recommendations, there is much to consider.

I would reiterate to you all that there is much to praise about our education system over the last 30 years. Wholesale and dramatic changes are not needed. What is needed is more targeted support to those schools and families that need it.

I believe in my heart that every child should be able to go to a great local school. We have been very active in supporting our colleagues in other Secondary Schools across New Zealand. We have much to share in terms of outstanding classroom practice

We must continue to be relentless and passionate about getting our students the best possible start to their continuing education journey or their entry into the World of work, when they leave Massey High School.

With our 50th Anniversary coming up this year October 18 and 19 we will see that many of our past students have gone on to do fabulous things not only locally but on a national and international stage. We are proud to produce outstanding people over the last 50 years and we will continue to do so.

Wishing you all a fantastic 2019.
