ACADEMIC TIE AWARD - MAESTRO LEMON (11TGI)

A blue academic tie is awarded to a Massey High School student in Year 9 to Year 13 in recognition of the high attainment and/or outstanding progress made towards achieving their academic goals. This award is a huge accomplishment as it is one of the top academic awards in our school.

Academic Tie Award: Friday 16th June 2017

From his first day at Massey High School, the potential in Maestro was evident. He diligently went about his work, in a quiet, yet determined manner. He is a role model to his peers, because of his quiet confidence, unassuming manner and humility. Maestro will lend a hand or support to any of his peers in need. He wants to achieve, has goals set for himself and works towards them consistently.

We are extremely proud to award this Academic tie to Maestro, who is the first student in Year 11, 2017 to gain all 80 credits. He has also gained his Level 1 Literacy, Numeracy and UE Literacy, doing this in 2016. Maestro currently has 22 credits at Level 2, and 15 at Level 3. In 2016, as a Year 10 student, Maestro gained Level 2 Te Reo Maori, endorsed with Merit.

Maestro is, and has always been, a core member of Kapa Haka. A young man, confident and proud to stand in his mana, representing his whanau with pride and dignity. Maestro has also competed in Manu korero, doing an exceptional job in this prestigious competition. He also participates actively in dance and basketball, showing that he has many talents in a wide range of areas.

Please join us in congratulating Maestro Lemon and his whanau
