CAREERS EXPO VISIT 2018

Elaine Curtis —

The Careers department will be taking a group of Year 12 and 13 students to the Careers Expo at the ASB showgrounds in Greenlane on Thursday 24 May.

The Careers Expo provides an opportunity for students to talk face to face with exhibitors such as universities, polytechnics, tourism schools, defence forces and other private providers. The period of transition from school to work can be a daunting prospect for our students and the expo will help them explore career options, find out about loans and allowances, look at apprenticeships and gain more information etc. The cost for the trip is $4 which covers a portion of the bus fare.

If your Year 12 or 13 child wishes to attend the expo, they can obtain details and permission slips from their tutor teacher or from Careers (P9).  All permission slips and money are to be returned to the Careers room no later than Friday 18 May to guarantee their place on the trip.

Only students who have signed up for the trip with Careers will be released from school to attend the Expo, however the Expo is open on Thursday evening from 5pm to 7pm and Saturday from 10am to 3pm if you wish to attend the expo with your child out of school hours.
