MEET THE TEACHER

On Wednesday 15 February, we invite all parents and whānau to join us for our ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening at school. This event is a great opportunity to meet other families and your child’s teacher. As a way of connecting with each other, bring your dinner and join us on the school courts between 5 - 5:45pm. We will then have a short presentation about our school between 5:45 - 6:00pm.  This will be on the courts, however if it is wet we will move to a presentation in the hall at 5:45pm. From this classrooms will be open for you to explore until 6:30pm.

NZEI PAID UNION MEETINGS

The teachers’ union, NZEI, has called for paid union meetings for teachers across the country. The Hutt Valley meeting will be held at Walter Nash Stadium on Monday 27 February beginning at 2pm. The vast majority of our teachers will be attending this meeting.

School will remain open, however we will have limited staff on site to supervise children. It would be ideal if any children who can be picked up early on the day are collected by their parents at 1pm from their classroom. We will not allow children to walk home if they haven't been collected, unless you have made a prior arrangement with the teacher.

We do apologise for the disruption, but also recognise that attracting quality teachers to the professional does depend on work and pay conditions.

LOST PROPERTY

This year the bulk of lost property will be held in the classrooms. If you are missing anything check in with your child's teacher first.

ABSENCES & SICKNESS

If you child will be absent from school please let us know. You can do this by:

• using the Absentees link on our website
• on the Report an Absence link from the Hero app
• Call the Absence line 5697205 and leave a message

Sometimes teachers are away or on release, so please use one of the above options rather than emailing the teacher or using Seesaw. 

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB

Orders for Scholastics are open again. There will be 2 issues per term and we will close the orders approximately 2 weeks after the brochures have been delivered to your children.

Issue 1 will be closing on Monday 13th of February. Orders need to be placed online, cannote take any payments for these at the school office. If you have any questions, please contact Julz.
