FREE COMMUNITY HEARING CLINICS

Free Community Hearing Clinics are run by Regional Public Health.  The first of these is being held on 7 May 2018 at Hutt Hospital between 2 - 3pm and in Wainuiomata at the Whai Oranga O Te Iwi Health Centre during the morning.  Please see the attached poster for more details.

WILDERKIDS HOLIDAY PROGRAMME

Wilderkids school holiday programme is open for bookings.  Sustainability Trust’s outdoor holiday programme for kids is running again from April 16 to 27. Based at Innermost Gardens and in Wellington Town Belt, the programme gets kids aged 5 to 12 exploring nature and learning about sustainability in a fun, hands-on way. Different activities every day, from making chutney with wild plants to learning bush survival skills. $56 a day per child, and we have $10 places available for families with a Community Services Card. INDOOR TENNIS COACHING- TERM 2

For children from years 2 to 8.  Places are available for this programme which takes place in the school hall on Tuesdays from 1.00-1.45pm, starting on Tuesday 15 May, 2018 and continuing for 6 consecutive weeks.  The coach will be Mr Gary Nelson, an experienced teacher and qualified tennis coach.  All equipment is provided including rackets. Cost is $50-00 for the block of 6 lessons and should be paid at the first lesson.

TENNIS HOLIDAY PROGRAMME - FROM 5 TO 13 YEARS

Dates: Monday 23, Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 April, 2018 (wet or fine)
Venue: Mitchell Park - Mitchell Street, Lower Hutt. If wet the programme will be held in the squash courts.
Timetable:
 9.00am-10.00 am- Girls from 5-8 years old
10.00am-11.00 am- Boys from 5-8 years old
11.00am-12.00 noon- Girls from 9 years +
1.00pm-2.00 pm- Boys from 9 years +
Cost: $33-00 for the 3 days. Money to be paid on the first day.

Note: Enrolments must be received by-Monday 16 April, 2018.  EARLY ENROLMENT is advised as this programme is very popular and the first 12 enrolments in each age group will be accepted.

POSSUM CONTROL OPERATION

Central Districts Pest Control Ltd will be carrying out ground-based possum control on the Wainuiomata South contract between 9 April 2018 and 30 June 2018. The contract is part of TBfree New Zealand’s national TB vector control programme.

The project boundary runs from the south-western side of Wainuiomata, along the Eastbourne coast, down to the southern end of the Eastbourne Domain. The operational area consists of approximately 1,246 hectares, mostly consisting of the East Harbour Regional Park Northern Forest, but also some surrounding private land.

HEART FOUNDATION

The Heart Foundation is hosting FREE information sessions across the Wellington region to discuss living with heart failure. Your local Clinical Nurse Specialists in heart failure will present on understanding and managing heart failure, medical treatments and how to keep well.

You will have the opportunity to share your own experiences or to ask questions about your heart condition. Whānau are also encouraged to come along and share with the group. Light refreshments will be provided.
