PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Maungaraki School —

Farewell Mr McC

We are officially at the half way point of the year!

Thank you so much for your support over the first half of the year, we have already squeezed so much in and are looking forward to an exciting final two terms. We have our production coming up at the end of term 3. This will be an excellent chance for our students to spend more time focussed on the arts curriculum.

Last week we had our three way conference meetings. These two nights were a huge success. It was neat to see the pride in children as they shared their learning with the people that matter most to them, you! We are very grateful for the huge turnout we had over the two nights - thank you.

We say farewell to Chris McC today. Chris has been a long time staff member here and has made a significant difference to the lives of many young people. Over his time at Maungaraki his passion in the areas of music and IT have been clear to see as he has worked with children right across the school. Mr McC will be missed here at Maungaraki, his kind and caring manner meant he was always very popular with our community. We wish Chris all the best on his next venture as he heads off to take up study in IT, a passion area of his.

We are pleased to announce that Lititia Gostynski will be joining us here at Maungaraki School. Mrs G will be teaching in Room 13 and will begin on day one of Term 3. Latitia is from South Africa. She taught there for 7 years before moving to New Zealand. Once in New Zealand Latitia has spent time working at Eastern Hutt School and has recently been relieving in the Lower Hutt area. I am sure you will join us in welcoming her into our school.

I hope you all have a great winter break, I look forward to seeing you safe and sound in two weeks.

Nga Mihi Nui,
Shane Robinson
