PRINCIPALS MESSAGE

Shane Robinson —

End of Term 2 is fast approaching

Kia ora e te whānau,

This is the last newsletter before the end of Term 2, it is incredible to think that we are fast approaching the halfway point in the year.

We are really proud of all of our learners and the work they do at school. Next week mid year reports will be emailed home to you. These reports are a good opportunity to have a conversation with your child/ren about the progress they are making and the things they are working on at school. If you have any questions about the reports or notice something out of the ordinary, please do pop in and chat to your child's teacher. Following on from these reports we will be having three way conferences early in Term 3. This will give us all a chance to sit down, celebrate the progress so far and set some targets for the remainder of the year.

On Tuesday we had a wonderful Sports Exchange with St Joseph's School. This exchange allowed some of our Footballers and Netballers the chance to test their skills against another school. It was a great afternoon and something that we aim to do more of in the coming term with a range of sports and ages. Well done to all involved who represented our school so well. A huge thanks to Mrs Pollard-Smith for organising the event and all the staff and volunteers who helped on the day.

Our School has some new clothing options available from this week. We have moved to a local supplier in the hope that we can have a wider selection of options available in a more timely manner. Launching this week we have a new Polo, Beanie and Soft shell Jacket to join our Hoodie and T-shirt. You can find out more about this information in this newsletter but please do head along to the website and check them out.

A special mention to our Caretaker Brian today. Brian Peck is an amazing person who works tirelessly around our school. The extra effort he goes to, to make our school a safe, fun and happy place to be. Each week he is busy working on any manner of tasks, just in the past few days he has marked out a soccer pitch, painted out some four square courts and built a new safety railing in our PE shed. He is so friendly and happy to help the kids in any way. Many of the jobs he carries out are unseen but essential to the running of our school. If you can please take some time to say thanks to Brian if you see him this week.

I hope you all enjoy the holiday break, we look forward to seeing you all back next term.
