Maungaraki School —

Term 4

SCHOOL PHOTOS

School Memories were here last week taking our school photos.  What happens from here:

  • A personalised envelope is on it's way home to you showing a proof of your child's class and portrait photo.  This includes a shoot key number for online ordering.
  • You will get an additional envelope with seperate shoot key numbers for sibling photos or if your child was in a sports or other photo.
  •  Parents can order online, which is the preferred option.  Or by returning the payment envelope to school with the payment enclosed (cash or a cheque made out to School Memories)
  • Orders close on 5 December and then photos will be delivered to school by the end of term.

If you have any questions please contact the school office.

COHORT ENTRY

On Tuesday 26th November at 5.30pm, in the staffroom we will be holding an information evening for those that are interested in finding out more about cohort entry. Cohort entry is when children start school in cohorts (groups) after they have turned 5.  There are two entry points per term, one on the first day of term, and one at a mid-point during a term.  Maungaraki School will be looking to adopt Cohort entry from Term 2, 2020.

After that, at 6pm, there will be the New Entrant parent evening for those people who have children starting school soon or are looking at Maungaraki School as an option for their child.

SUN SHADES & HARD SURFACES

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
We have had the installation of the first of our three planned shade areas this week - and what great timing as the Sun came out.

Thank you so much for all of your fundraising efforts this year, particularly the chocolate fundraiser which was specifically targeted to this project.  Thank you to the Home and School committee for their tireless work fundraising for our school.  Thank you to our Board of Trustees for adding the little bit extra we needed to bring this to life.

Over the next month more work will be done on the Hard Surfaces project.  The next couple of weekends will see the area being prepared with our turf being installed the weekend of the 30 November and the rubber matting to go in the weekend after that.  By the second week of December we should have phase one of our hard surfaces area complete.

LOST PROPERTY

We have a large pile of lost property in the first aid room.  If you are missing anything please come in and check if it's there.  All lost items will be cleaned out at the end of the year and donated to a local charity.

SCHOLASTIC ISSUE 8

This is the last issue of the year so get in your orders for Christmas.  Issue 8 closes on Wednesday 27 November at 9am.

LIBRARY

The library will be closed for the year from Monday 2 December.  If you have any of our school Library books please make sure these are returned to school by this date so we can start our stock take.

THANK YOU AFTERNOON TEA

On Monday 2nd December 2019 @ 2:15pm we are holding our annual 'Thank You Afternoon Tea' in the staffroom to say thanks for all the parent and community support this year. Our School could not run without all of the amazing support our parents and community offer.

If you have helped in a classroom, run a sports team, been on a trip, run a small group, come to a working bee or helped us in any way at all, we would love to say thank you to you.  Please come along and join us for some christmas cake and a cuppa.

If you do intend on coming, please RSVP to the Office as soon as possible: office@maungarakischool.net
