GLOW DISCO

Come along to our school disco 'WEAR WHITE AND BRIGHT'

Date: Friday 28 May
Entry: $5 per person or $10 per family
Time:

• Years 0 to 4 – 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm
• Years 5 to 8 – 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
• Open to all students of Maungaraki School.

Have your face painted in 'Glow' face paint and hair sprayed in 'Neon' colours for $2 each.
We'll also have other treats, drinks and glow things for sale.  

All proceeds from the disco will go towards the Yr 5 & 6 camp. 

KIDS LIT QUIZ 2021

On Thursday 6th May 2021 two teams competed at the Kid's Lit quiz at Samuel Marsden School were they had to answer 100 questions on children's literature. These two teams have worked very hard over the past term to read as many books as they could. They were all great representatives of Maungaraki School and we are very proud of their efforts. Maungaraki A achieved top scores in two rounds.

STEMM CHALLENGE

On Wednesday we had two teams head off to the Lower Hutt STEMM challenge at the Town Hall. Both of the teams competed extremely well and really enjoyed the experience. In fact the teams were only separated by 1 and a half points with one of our teams finishing in third place - an outstanding result. Well done to both teams, we are proud of you.

A huge thanks to the parents who helped with this event, we couldn't do it without you.

GRANT

A huge thank you to Four Winds Foundation for a grant of $5,000 towards the cost of our swimming lessons.

Also a huge thanks to Pelorus Trust for a grant of $1,000 to purchase 20 Ukeleles and tuners. 

We appreciate all of the support we receive from Pelorus Trust and the Four Winds Foundation. 

STUDENT CELEBRATION

A large group of students from Maungaraki School attended the 2021 Kyokushin Karate Nationals in March.  There was some amazing results from our students:

Runner Up - Team Kata: Sophie Papps, Conor Church and Lucy Papps
Runner Up - Junior Boys 8-9 years: Zac Fiddis
Runner Up - Junior Girls 10-11 years: Lucy Papps
National Champ - Junior Boys 5 to 7 years - Joshua Papps
