WESTERN ZONE SWIMMING

Congratulations to the 34 swimmers who represented the school at the South West Zone Swimming Sports.  They represented the school so well and put in an absolute huge effort in the pool.  As a result of their efforts, Maungaraki finished 2nd in our zone which was an outstanding achievement.

A huge thank you to the 14 Year 7 & 8 leaders who assisted Mr C in running the zone event. They were amazing role models, taking on any job that needed doing.  It was really satisfying to receive glowing feedback from other school's teachers and parents about how amazing they were.  They did such a fantastic job they were asked to come back and help with the Interzone event. Thank you again!

INTERZONE SWIMMING

Congratulations to the following students who qualified for the Interzone Swimming on Thursday the 20th of September and will be representing the South West Zone:

FOOTBALL

On Tuesday next week we will be hosting Sts Peter and Paul year 5/6 Football team and their year 6 Netball team.  This will be followed by our football team taking on Eastern Hutt on the 19th of September (at Eastern Hutt) followed by a rematch with Normandale on the 20th of September (at Normandale).

TABLE TENNIS

Boston, Jake and Storm played a fantastic Table Tennis tournament last Friday, winning 3 of their 4 matches against three year 7/8 teams and one year 5/6 team.  Despite being younger than most of their opponents, they were not fazed by the challenge.  All of their skill levels improved remarkably as the tournament progressed with each player gaining invaluable tournament experience.

Tuesday Table Tennis is attracting approximately 20 children each week. Their enthusiasm has been superb.  There is another tournament coming up at Empire TT Club in a few weeks and there is a junior coaching clinic in Term 4.  Get involved if you are interested.
