ACTIVE

Maungaraki School —

Heart Values

For the next two weeks, we will be focussing on the HEART value of ACTIVE. This value is about being both physically active and active in our learning.

We will be talking to tamariki about being open to trying new things and giving our best effort when we learn new things.

When we are active, we participate in all learning activities and are focused on our own learning. A great line to remember is “Be where your feet are”, this reminds us to focus on the tasks and people around us instead of getting distracted.

Setting goals in our learning is a good way for us to stay active and to work towards always achieving our best. Goals allow us to track our progress and celebrate our achievements.

Being physically active by moving our bodies in a range of physical activities is good for our health and well-being. Over the next fortnight particularly we will be shining a light on the physically active things we do and the positive impacts these have on our wellbeing.

We encourage all of our students to be active both at school, at home, and in the community to be the best ACTIVE version of themselves
