PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Welcome Back
Kia ora Maungaraki Whānau,
Welcome back to another exciting year at Maungaraki School! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer break, filled with sunshine, laughter, and special moments with your whānau. As we start our new school year, we extend a warm welcome to you all. A special welcome to the new families, tamariki and staff who have joined us this year. We look forward to getting to know each and every one of you and building a strong, supportive community together.
This term promises to be filled with exciting learning opportunities, fun activities, and community events. We have planned a range of activities to engage and inspire our tamariki, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.
We have a few projects on the go at school which should be complete soon. Our new entranceway and carpark is scheduled to be finished in Mid March. We do apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and thank you for your patience during this project. This development will make school much safer for students as they move to and from school. We would ask you to be extra vigilant as you complete drop offs and pick ups over the next month. Please also continue to be mindful of our amazing neighbours as you park your cars during these times. The new three classroom block is scheduled to open in Term 3 of the year. This will mean that we will continue to have building disruptions and our play space impacted over the first two terms. We are really looking forward to opening this space and exploring the opportunities this will provide our kura.
At Maungaraki School we encourage open communication between whānau, teachers, and staff to ensure the success and well-being of every child at Maungaraki School. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to your child's classroom teacher first, they will be only too happy to help. Working together we can make a huge difference.
Here's to a fantastic 2024 at Maungaraki School filled with growth, learning, and memorable moments.
Noho ora mai,
Shane Robinson
