PRINCIPALS MESSAGE

Shane Robinson —

We have a wonderful school up here on the hill

Kia ora e te whānau,

I have an extra special mention to start with today.  We have a wonderful school up here on the hill.  This is largely due to the people that put their energy in here making out a super place to learn.  I would like to thank one group in particular today.  The Support Staff at Maungaraki School are without question one of the most incredible groups of people you will come across.  They are dedicated to our learners and work tirelessly to assist groups and individuals at our school.  Their commitment and passion is infectious and I would like to personally thank them all for all of the efforts they put into our young people.  Each one of our support staff goes well above and beyond to make sure the children here get the very best.  They are a huge reason Maungaraki School is the happy and successful place it is.

Our school year is rapidly coming to an end and we have been busy.  In the last two weeks we have had so much on!  The Bikes in Schools people have been in working some of our senior students and we have had some very successful Athletics Days for all of our students.  We also had some talented teams heading off to the EPro8 challenge - with some incredible results.  Our Nikau students have been involved in writing and presenting speeches which finished with speech finals yesterday.  The quality of the speeches was extremely high and I was so impressed by the confidence of our young learners.

We still have a LOT to fit in before the end of year.  Our leavers dinner and the end of year assembly are coming up quickly.  We have our fingers crossed for great weather as we are looking at a full week of EOTC activities next week - should be great fun!

Until next time, be your best.

No reira, kia kaha ra,

Shane Robinson.
