Maungaraki School —

Term 2 will be a busy month with Winter sport underway

SCHOOL T-SHIRTS & SWEATSHIRTS

A reminder that school t-shirts are available for purchase at the school office for $20.  We have sizes 8 through to adults large.

Sweatshirts are also available to purchase at a cost of $45.  At present there are no size 8's left however we have sizes 10 through to adults large.  You can get get your name printed on the back of the sweatshirt for an extra $10 and they look great.

SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY

The school cross country will be run on Tuesday 22 May for all year levels.  We will be doing some training runs at school over the next few weeks.

We have changed the circuit slightly this year to make it more inclusive for students and parents coming along to watch.  Come along to cheer the students on , the action will start from around 9:15am.

NETBALL

Netball games get under way this weekend.  Good luck to all of the players in the 7 teams we have entered this season, Saturdays (year 7/8's and year 3/4's) and Monday afternoons (year 5/6's).

If you haven't already done so please make payment for your netball subs at the school office or into the school bank account.  If you need to discuss this please email Nicola Prichard on nicola.prichard@maungarakischool.net

Please wear your netball uniform with pride.  Thermals can be worn but they will need to be navy blue.

Netball Hutt Valley is looking for Junior Coordinators for the 62 teams entered into the year 3-4 futureFERNS programme.  They play on Saturdays starting 12 May with rounds all day (first one at 9am, last one starts 3pm).

They would love some more Junior Coordinators to help lead the sessions. This is a great opportunity to do some coaching/share your love of netball in a short burst of time on your usual playing day.

Teams warm up with their coaches then meet one of our Junior Coordinators for some skill activities with a group of 4-5 teams (all pre-planned, as per the futureFERNS programme) for about 20 minutes, then they play games of modified 5v5 netball.

We have a roster, so you can choose to do a set time each week to fit in with your own game time, or to do a couple of rounds in a row every so often to help us cover the 11 weeks.

If you are interested email Kirsten on: admin@netballhuttvalley.co.nz

BASKETBALL & TINIBALL

The Term 2 league starts next week.  Good luck to the players in the 9 teams we have entered this season.  If you haven't already done so please make payment for your basketball subs at the school office or online into the schools bank account.
