FAREWELL

Shane Robinson —

We farewell some special people at the end of the year

The end of they year will see Maungaraki School farewell three special people.  Amy Head, Amy Houlden and Lisa Grinling are all moving on to new challenges in 2019.

Amy Head has been teaching at Maungaraki School for the last year and a half in the junior school. Amy is passionate about children and has been invaluable in leading our Choir.  Her caring manner and wonderful way with children has made her a very popular teacher with the children at Maungaraki.  Amy is moving to a school closer to where she lives in Newtown next year.

Amy Houlden joined us during the year, opening a lovely New Entrant space in Room 14.  Amy has created a happy and safe learning environment for our newest members of the school.  It has been neat to see the way she has developed these learners with her super kind and caring manner.  Amy is currently travelling from England and is looking forward to continuing to explore more of New Zealand.  We certainly hope to see Amy back relieving at School next year.

Lisa Grinling is heading off to work at the Ministry of Education as a PA from the start of 2019. Lisa is an amazing person who has been a core part of Maungaraki School for the past 8 years.  Her kindness and smile are something that will be missed up here on the hill.  I have countless people talk to me about the way Lisa is able to warm up a room and make visitors to our school feel welcome.

I am sure you will join me in wishing these special people all the best in their future endeavours.

Further information about their farewell will be shared with you.
