School Picnic

Kia ora e te whānau,

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

We have had a wonderful start to the year, the weather has been so kind.

The weather managed to treat us well on the School Picnic last Friday. Students had a lovely day in Upper Hutt playing and swimming with their buddies and friends. These wonderful opportunities would not be possible without our amazing community. A huge thank you to the helpers that volunteered their time to come and support children. Your help make these events possible.

It was also nice to see so many families at our meet the teacher night last week. The staff talked through the programmes parents can expect to see in 2019 with a specific focus on the differences between the Junior and Senior school.  We also took some time to explore the new Kiva anti bullying programme we have begun to implement.  Following this the classrooms were open for families to explore and have an informal chat to staff.  Thank you to all who attended.

As you will be aware we have the Build and Play trailer at school.  This trailer is a Hutt City Council initiative to help children to develop skills and keep them moving.  Our students have been LOVING the chance to hammer, nail, cut, glue, design and build creations.  If you do have any small off-cuts of wood at home, our students would really appreciate them to use as they create. Please just drop them into the office at any time - any contribution would be welcome.

Until next time, be your best.
