YEAR 3 & 4 - CHROME BOOK EVENING

Parents of our current year 3 & 4 students (moving in to year 4 & 5 next year) are invited to join us for a discussion around chrome books in the classrooms.  We will be covering how we keep kids safe online, appropriate use at school and how they will be integrated into the learning programme.  It will be held at 5:00pm- 5:30pm on Thursday 8 November in rooms 9 & 10.

FANCY FEET FRIDAY

On Friday 9 November we are having 'Fancy Feet Friday'.  Dress up your feet to celebrate all of our walking, come to school with some Funky, Fancy, Creative shoes.

GRANTS

We have recently received 2 grants and would like to thank and acknowledge the ongoing support of the following organisations.

MOBIL OIL NZ

We received a Mobil Oil New Zealand 2018 Bright Future grant of $5000 to go towards science educational materials.  Once we have purchased the materials we will share some photos and invite Mobil Seaview Terminal Manager Robert up to  check them out.

PUB CHARITY LTD

We received a $5000 grant towards the purchase of 10 new Apple iPads and cases.  This grant would not be possible without our local venues partnering with us and supporting their local community.

SCHOLASTIC

Issue 7 of the Scholastic Book Club closes tomorrow Friday 2 November.  Please get your book club orders in now or order online at www.scholastic.co.nz

COMMUNITY GARDEN

Down in the bottom field of the school a little garden is underway.  This will be our third summer here and the small team of three have proudly watched plants grow and given food to the children, school and community over the past two summers.  We would love to increase the size of our team and warmly invite you to come and say hello.  We meet at the school office at 9am on Wednesday mornings and then go down to chat, garden and help this garden flourish.  Grandparents are especially welcome.  We would even love people having a little look over the fence when dropping their children off and watching the progress!  Also if anyone has seedlings or seeds they want to donate we would appreciate any donations.
Thanks, Wendy & the gardening team.
