SWIMMING

On the last day of Term 2 we held our Senior Swimming Sports at Huia Pool. Some of our students enjoyed a series of fun races and activities with Mr Schulz and Miss Archer, while the rest participated in the races in the main pool. It was a hugely successful day with everyone representing their houses with pride and enthusiasm.

Well done to all those that participated, whether in a race with the aim to qualify for the South West Zone event in early Term 3 or in one of our many fun and crazy races. You should all be proud of your efforts and the way you supported each other on the day. Thanks to all teachers and staff involved in the running of the event, and to those who came along to support!

Please see the attached swimming results for top 3 placings.

PSW INVITATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY

On Tuesday 6th July Alvaro competed in the PSW Invitation Cross Country event. Alvaro came 13th which is an awesome achievement - well done!

BASKETBALL

The Term 3 basketball season is underway and we have had some great results already! Here are a couple of the reports I've received so far.

Maungaraki Hornets - year 3/4: They won their first game 12-2. It was a really great game and everyone played very well. Jordan scored 3, Mikaere scored 2, and Alex scored 1. Awesome defence from everyone. Player of the day went to Jordan whose last shot was an amazing from a distance.

Maungaraki Warriors - year 5/6: A first up win by default was an interesting start to the season!

Maungaraki Timberwolves - year 7/8: They started the season with a great, high-scoring win! Maddie was player of the day.

I've heard from many players that they are loving being part of the teams and are having a lot of fun with their friends! Keep it up everyone.
