Maungaraki School —

Term 3

DRINK BOTTLES

Under Covid-19 level 2 restrictions the school water fountains have been turned off.  Normally we would require all children to bring a drink bottle at school, however with the fountains off this becomes more important.  Please ensure your child/ren have one in their bag each day.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

Our school photos went well last week.  Order forms will be sent out in about a week and you will be able to place orders for you child's photos.

MARKET DAY

On Friday 28th of August the year 5 to 8s will be running a Market to sell their wares. It will start at 12 Midday and run through till 12:40pm. Cost of items will be between $1 and $5. If students wish to attend they will be able to exchange $$ at a "Bank" on the day. Dollars raised are going towards the 7/8 Makahika Camp in Term 4.

DISCO

We had a great turn out for the school disco on Friday. A big thank you to everyone who attended and a special thank you to the Home & School committee & the student helpers who made it such a great night. We raised over $1800 most of which will be to support our year 7 & 8 camp at the end of the year.

ARRIVING AT SCHOOL

We have some children arriving at school very early.  Please do not arrive at school before 8:30am as children are not supervised before this time.  The exception to this is when students have been asked to arrive early for an event.

PARKING ON BARBERRY

We have had a number of concerns raised from the residents of Barberry Grove regarding parking and drop offs in this area. Some of the behaviour from drivers is putting children at risk and is inconsiderate to our neighbours. Please park and drop off responsibly, take a few extra moments to find a park that is safe and not across a driveway. Thank you for your support and cooperation in keeping your children safe.

YUMMY STICKERS

Remember to keep collecting your Yummy Stickers.  Collect the Yummy cut-out labels from bags (each cut-out label is worth 10 stickers) and individual Yummy apple stickers.  See the attached sticker collection sheet to use.  As a school we use these to get a share of the $200,000 free DG Sport sports gear prize pool.

Yummy apples are available from New World, PAK’nSAVE and participating Four Square stores. The more you collect, the more sports gear you get!  All stickers/cut-outs must be in by posted in to us by Monday 14 September so we have time to send these on.
