LEVEL 2

Maungaraki School —

How we operate at Level 2

Maungaraki School is officially open from Thursday the 9th September for all children to return to school.  New additions to Level 2 means that there will be a few changes to the way we operate at Maungaraki School.

Please do contact us if you have any concerns or questions.

Level 2 key messages are:

  • Parents are asked to keep any sick children at home. If a sick child comes to school, we will send them home.

  • Please drop off & pick up children at the gate.  We will available to help children who need extra support with this.

  • We are limiting visitors on site. Please call or make contact via email if you need to discuss anything and prior to arranging a visit.

  • Contact tracing for all visitors on site is required. Please use the Covid Tracer app QR codes when entering school.

  • We will clean our spaces regularly to ensure classrooms are as safe as possible.

  • We will ensure that children and young people regularly wash and dry their hands. We do have hand sanitisers at entry to all classrooms and shared spaces.

  • We encourage children to cough & sneeze into their elbow and try to avoid touching their face.

  • Wearing a mask in school is optional, students are able to wear them, however it is not compulsory. We would ask caregivers to educate children on how to wear masks correctly to ensure their best use. Whatever your decision around mask wearing is will be accepted.

  • Our fountains have been turned off so please ensure that students come to school with a drink bottle.

  • We will not be meeting in groups bigger than 50, so all assemblies are cancelled until further notice.

As a school, our aim is to ensure that we keep our children’s Well Being at Heart. Although there are many protocols and procedures that we will be managing, we are keen to make sure school remains a fun, engaging environment that supports their needs and well being.

We appreciate your support and understanding, take care out there.
