Being Kind

Over the next few weeks teachers will be incorporating work around “Being Kind” with their students.

Kindness is about caring genuinely for others around you, wanting the best for them and recognizing in them the same wants, needs, aspirations, and even fears that you have too. Kindness is warm, resilient, patient, trusting, loyal and grateful.

Practice kindness and generosity towards others.

A great way of talking to your children about being kind is discussing if they have filled a bucket today. This is an imaginary bucket that people carry around. When it is full, from others being kind to them, they feel good about themselves.

A great book that outlines this well is “Have You Filled a Bucket Today by Carol McCloud.
