PRINCIPALS MESSAGE

Shane Robinson —

It's been a busy term

Kia Ora Whanau,

It has been a very busy term with a wide range of extra learning opportunities provided for our students here at Maungaraki School.

Last week we had a wonderful whole school Science Day.  The aim of this was to promote science as a fun and exciting activity.  This year at Maungaraki School we have a focus on Science with our Science Fair coming in Term 3.  Students spent the first half of science day visiting different teachers to explore a range of science investigations or concepts.  This was followed by a joint science celebration assembly in the afternoon.  It was great seeing all our Young Scientists in action.  For more information and images of this event please see our school Facebook page.

This week you should have received an email asking for your thoughts on school reports.  We are keen to find out what parents and families see as useful information in school reports.  This feedback can then assist us as we look at reporting post national standards.  If you have time, please take a few minutes to fill out the survey, we would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for your support last week enabling teachers to attend the Paid Union Meetings.  There are very important issues being discussed to ensure we have the resourcing, structures and systems to provide the best outcomes for our students.

Have a lovely break with your families and enjoy taking time out with your children.

Until next time, be your best.

No riera, kia kaha ra,
Nga Mihi Nui,
