Welcome back to Term 3

Kia ora e te whānau,

Welcome back to School. I hope you all had a nice break over the holidays and were able to take some time to recharge for the winter term ahead.

This term as a school we will be focussing in on the Arts. Over the term children will be working in a range of ways to explore the arts including opportunities in physical arts, dance, music and drama. As the term unfolds we will be collecting examples of this Art to be shared with you in our Art Showcase at the end of the term. This will be a celebration in which we will be turning the school into an Art museum and performance zone. It should be a wonderful exhibition of the talent we have at Maungaraki School.

Our Parent / Student Conferences are on next week - Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st July. We had an amazing turnout to these meetings earlier in the year and are looking forward to seeing you again. At these meetings children will be sharing their progress and achievements with you. Following on from this we will then take some time to set some future goals together. There will then be a chance for a discussion around the report and a chance for questions. If you have any queries about these please contact your child's teacher.

We have the completion of some building work on site in the first few weeks of the term. I do apologise for any disruption this causes. All of the children have been spoken to around the importance of safety around these zones and have been amazing at keeping away. Our new room, Room 13, should be operational by the end of week 6 and this will see a pause in the building work for a short while. I will have more information around the opening of our new classroom closer to the time.
