YUMMY APPLES

We are participating in the Yummy School Sticker Promotion.  Collect your stickers and hand them in to the school office.  The Home & School will then put them forward to get our share of the $200,000 worth of Sports gear.  We have attached the forms for you to use.

ENVIRO TEAM

Our Enviro group has been hard at work weeding our Community Garden. We have planted lots of winter vegetables including broccoli, cauliflower, beetroot and parsley. In the next few weeks we will start on getting seedling trays organised to get some spring vegetables sorted. There are lots of leafy greens ready for harvesting, come and check it out between Rooms 13 and 14

MAUNGARAKI SCHOOL BOOK EXCHANGE

Run by the Enviro team after school in Room 10 each Friday. The Book Exchange will be open for children to swap a book they've read for a new-to-them book. If there is no book there that they want that day, the voucher that they get for trading in a book will be held in Room 10 until they find one that they like. If they wish to, they keep their chosen book forever, or they may bring it in for a new one the following week.

We have hundreds of novels and picture books, so bring in books in great condition, and swap for a new book! The Maungaraki Book Exchange is all about supporting children in developing a love of reading. We hope our Book Exchange will provide a small way of helping children keep reading new books without incurring any cost, as well as learning about the value of recycling.
