PRINCIPALS MESSAGE

Shane Robinson —

Welcome back to term 2

 Kia Ora,

I hope you had a restful break and are ready for another exciting term at School on the hill.  The children have been telling me all about the excitement they had over the break - I've heard stories ranging from epic bike crashes, terrific trips overseas, to fun in the bush.

Our wonderful staff have some amazing activities planned for the term.  From building animal habitats, exploring outer space to conducting our very own science experiments, the children will have some amazing opportunities. Watch the newsletter for ways in which you can join in.

We really do appreciate all the support we get from our parent community.  No offer is too big or too small.  If you do feel that you have some time and would like to help us out please contact your child's teacher.

Over the holidays we had an exciting arrival.  Our new classroom was delivered in three parts and then clipped together.  The weather was kind and the wind behaved making the job relatively straight forward.  Although it looks like it is nearly ready to use there is still work to be done.  Over the next 8 weeks builders will put the finishing touches on the Room.  They will add decks, paths and shade as well as working hard inside the room to make it look beautiful.  We are very hopeful this room will be open for use for the start of Term 3.

In other building news we will have builders in the Library this term converting this space into two new learning spaces.  This work is also scheduled to be completed by Term 3.  This will mean that the Library will not be available for the term.  We have selected a range of books to visit classrooms and have organised a Read-a-thon for later in the Term to keep a special focus on reading.  The Library will return in Term 3 - and we can't wait!

Until next time, be your best.
