Last week our students elected their new house leaders.  Well done to all of the leaders that applied for these roles.  A huge congratulations to our newly elected 2018 House Captains:

NETBALL

Notices for 2018 Netball season went home via Signmee last week, please ensure you complete these by Friday 9 March so we can organise the teams. If you missed getting a notice and your child would like to play netball please email the school office or Nicola Prichard: nicola.prichard@maungarakischool.net  Here is a brief overview of the season for each year group.  All games are played at Taita courts.

Year 3 & 4
Games are played on Saturdays starting Saturday 12th May.
Teams play 5 aside on 2/3rds of the court.
Rounds are between 9:00am and 4:00pm and teams usually get a set time for their weekly game.
DATES: Orientation Day for all teams: 12 May
Round One: 19, 26 May, 9, 16, 23 June. Rain out is 30 June
Round Two: 28 July, 4, 11, 18, 25 August. Rain out is 1 September
Prizegiving: Saturday 8 September for all teams.

Year 5 & 6
Games are played on Monday afternoons starting Monday 7th May 2018.
Teams play 6 aside on a full court.
Rounds are either 4.00pm, 4.45pm and 5.30pm and teams play 4 x 8 minutes quarters
DATES: Grading for all teams: 7 & 14 May
Round One: 21, 28 May, 11, 18, 25 June, Rain Out 2 July
Round Two: 30 July, 6, 13, 20, 27 August, Rain Out 3 September
Prizegiving: Saturday 8 September for all teams. 

Year 7 & 8
Games are played on Saturday mornings starting Saturday 5th May 2018. 
Rounds can be between 9:00am to 4:00pm and normal netball rules apply.
DATES: Grading: 5, 12, 19 May
Round One: 26 May, 9, 16, 23, 30 June; Rain Out Saturday 7 July
Round Two: 28 July; 4, 11, 18, 25 August; Rain Out Saturday 1 September
Prizegiving: Saturday 8 September for all teams.
