Maungaraki School —

Summer Sport & Athletics

We have changed the format of the school athletics this year.

Junior Athletics: Years 0 - 2

Athletics will be held on Wednesday 14 November.  The first activity will start at 9:20am, the last activity will finish at 12:20pm and sprints will begin at 2:00pm culminating in the whole school house relay.

The purpose of this event is for the children to participate in 8 SportStart activities. They will rotate around in house groups.  Your child will need to wear a t-shirt in their house colour.

Students need to come to school with their sunhat, sunblock, sensible running shoes, named drink bottle and a good lunch.  We are looking forward to a fun day. If you have any questions please see your child’s class teacher.

Senior Athletics: Years 3 - 8

Before next Friday the Year 4 to 8 students will have the opportunity to qualify for the South West Zone Athletics being held in Week 5.  The qualifying events and times are as follows (weather dependent):

There are still some basketball singlets which are yet to be handed back. Please hand these back to Mr C as soon as you can so we can ensure we have enough for the next basketball season.
